Genres

Genre is a type or kind of film for example, horror, comedy or thriller.

You should be able to tell this in the first minute of the trailer for example in western films you would know instantly what it is because you hear the spaghetti western song or if one of the shots are on a desert.

3 genres that I'm interested in are : comedy,action,animation

the conventions of comedy are:

mise-en-scene - usually bright locations,towns/high schools (depending on the type of comedy)
that are familiar to audiences

sound - sometimes comedic sound effects added

Characters - usually one relatable character, a smart one and a idiot.

sometimes including slapstick humour, parodies, usually include romance

conventions for a action film are :

mis-en-scene:normally in dark towns or very busy towns, not normally loads of lighting as it tends to be undercover.

sound- usually gun shots

characters: the villain, the hero, the lady in distress

normally including a fight scene where either the villain or the hero dies

conventions for a animation are:

mis-en-scene: bright lighting,outside,sometimes in schools

sound:not normally many sound effects, just music

usually consists of two characters falling in love or something bad happens to one of the main characters.
